Congressional & Senatorial TERM LIMITS!
Ok first I have to give credit to 2 different blogs for bringing this light bulb to my mind:
1. Ace of Spades HQ
2. Commentary Magazine Blog
Ok after reading about Pelosi giving credit to Iran with “helping” the surge work, my brain almost exploded and I almost got fired for yelling you “traitor bitch!!”. After calming down I read a that someone left on the commentary magazine blog website. It clearly stated:
Now I have brought this up with a few friends and even my wife, but I have never spoke about it out loud. Well now it is time to. How do we as Americans think that by electing the same people into office over and over and over again will change anything? I mean its like Congress is a permanent Groundhog Day.
I know there are a few in Congress that have done a wonderful job, but i still think that to be able to have a change and make some serious effects to this country, it is time that the government get back to being “by the people for the people”. Instead we have by the people until I die or get tired of being in Congress,or run for President and win/lose! Now i know that Senators do 6year terms and Congress does 2 years. But the President can only do 2, 4 year terms. Does anyone else see an issue with this?
In a perfect world, or at least one that can run efficiently, Senators should do a 4 year term and be limited to 2 to 4 max, set their elections on opposite years of the President. In other words, 2008 we elect the President, 2009 we elect new Senators. Now you can break that down to 50 one year and 50 the next, or all 100 at the same time.Either way after 8 to 16 years max you will have new Senators in office that can bring change to the system. My opinion they should be 2, 4 year terms like the President, and on the same years as the President. That way if a Senator decides to run for President and wins or loses their seat is given up for someone else, and in 4 years if they have another term they can win then they can run again.
As far as the House goes, it should be similar to the Senate, but with different amount of years and terms. Being as now they have an election every 2 years, lets change that to every 3. The term limits would be 4, meaning an even 12 years in the House. These elections can be broken up easily. The first batch would be the same year as a Presidential election, the next batch would be the next year when the Senators are running for office. So to follow the example above, in 2008 50% of the house would run for election, and 2009 the other 50% would run. Then in 2011 the first 50% would run again if they haven’t hit the term limit, then in 2012 the other 50% along with the Presidential and Senate races.
But the biggest thing that pisses me off is how Pelosi can go around and thank Iran for helping out with the surge and saying that because Iran decided to tell the insurgents not to fight, is why the surge worked. Saying shit like that, or going to Syria and meeting with their President after the President of the United States, your bass, tells you not to, should be grounds for Treason charges. Pelosi and the code pinkers, and any other left wing nut case that decides to help the United States enemy’s or the friends of our enemy’s then they should be charged with treason, tried and if found guilty be hung on the White House lawn, and televised around the world on Pay per view or HBO. Sorry for the rant, but there have been to many men and women who have died for this country over the last 200 plus years to give us the freedoms we all love to have a fucking idiot like Pelosi to say that Iran should be thanked, or to have her hanging out with the president of Syria. Not only is it a slap in the face to those men and women who died, currently serving,or have served, but it should be a slap in the face to every American. How can we expect to “change” the government if our hands are tied? Someone please tell me how??
Not I am not 100% sure but I believe that serving one’s country in the Senate or House isn’t something that was suppose to be a career, but something one does to give back to our country, and when that time is up, they go back home to whatever it is they were doing and go about their lives. If it was meant to be a lifelong venture they would not have put term limits on the President. before the 22nd Amendment in the Constitution, all of the President’s that came after George Washington only served 2 terms out of respect for Washington. Washington did not want to serve more then 2 terms because he was satisfied with the job he did and did not want to serve anymore terms. Because he was such a great man and leader every other President followed suit until FDR was elected to 4 terms in the 30’s and 40’s, and 2 years after his death did the 22nd pass Congress and ratifies in 1951. 6 years after FDR’s death. So why can’t Congress fall into this as well??
If we are going to change the way the country is lead and how the government is ran we need to get rid of all the shit that is in Congress and start new every 4 years. Then maybe then we might actually see some sort of change for once

Famous quotes by Ahmadinejad:
“Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation’s fury,”
“Iran is ready to transfer nuclear know-how to the Islamic countries due to their need.”
Barack Obama Quotes:
“You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a (flag) pin. Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we’re talking about the Iraq war, that became a substitute for, I think, true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest..”
“The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn’t. But she is a typical white person…”
“Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.”
“On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.”
“(America is) just downright mean.” — Michelle Obama
“I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.” — Obama’s friend, Bill Ayers
Explaining last week why he was trailing Hillary Clinton in Kentucky, Obama again botched basic geography: ‘Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.’ On what map is Arkansas closer to Kentucky than Illinois?” — Michelle Malkin
makes you think?
What to do?…part 2
Well it has been a couple of weeks since I posted about my shitty job and a few good things have happened. First I got my daughter for the summer so thats the biggest thing! I am so excited to have her here. Especially since at the end of last year I thought I would be in Iraq by now, which may still happen and when it does I will take it like a grain of salt, do my mission and get home.
On the job front, I recently took a test with a local police department this past Tuesday, got a call from the on the same day saying I passed and they want me to come in for an interview next Monday. So I am very excited about this. Some people have been asking me why I want to become a cop, and the best way I can explain it to them is this way. I consider being a cop as an extension of being in the Army the only difference is I won’t b serving the whole country by a community, and hopefully do some good to that community. So hopefully the interview will go well, and I get to move on in the process of getting the job.
The next big thing is,this past Sat. I reenlisted in the Army Reserves for another 6 years. Of course with this came a big bonus, but it isn’t always about the money. I have been in for over 11 years now, and the Army has been a part of my life so much that when I looked at the possibility of getting out and not having it there scared me. It’s like having your arm removed for no good reason. Now if you are my mom or sister the good reason would be not to go to Iraq, but that is something that I have come to terms with a longtime ago. I knew the moment I signed my name and took the oath 11 years ago that at some point I may or may not have to go to war. Anyone who has joined and says differently is an idiot and needs to be bitched slapped! I also knew at the age of 8 that i would be in the military until I could retire from it. So with 11 years down it made only sense to keep going towards the 20. But now I am faced with a HUGE problem, how do I tell my mom and sister with out them beating the shit out of me? Me telling my dad will be no big deal, he is very supportive of my service and telling him that I decided to continue on verses getting out, he will understand, but my mom and sister are totally different. Hell in 2003, before I went over the first time my mom was trying to run me over with the car so I couldn’t go, (not really but she suggested it a few times!). Hopefully they will understand it at some point, especially when they realize that my wife supports me 150% and that I think if my daughter was a few years older should would understand and be behind me as well.
The true meaning of Memorial Day.
I found this story in a mil blog Blackfive.
You can check it out along with other heroic stories of our troops in harms way at www. blackfive. net As you enjoy your 3 day weekend remember those that won’t have 3 days off and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to our country so you can have those 3 days off:
What is Memorial Day really about? While we are busy gearing up for the weekend, I thought I should post this annual reminder about the holiday. It may surprise some of you.
If you are relatively new to Blackfive, you should read this story about a Memorial Day five years ago – Mathew Schram’s Memorial Day. And, unfortunately, we’ve posted many memorials to our Fallen Americans.
When Taps is played at dusk, it has a completely different meaning than when Taps is played during the day. No soldier really wants to hear it played during daylight. For when the bugle plays Taps in the daylight…that means a soldier has fallen…There is a belief among some that Taps is the clarion call to open the gates of heaven for the fallen warrior and letting them know to “Safely Rest”…
Of course, Memorial Day is about remembering the sacrifices that our military men and women have made over the last 232 years. We are still a young nation, but one that has made many sacrifices to remain free. We should also take time to remember the families who have lost loved ones.
We have focused on just a few of the fallen over the last few years. I’ve lost good friends during the War on Terror. And I write about the others to ensure that we don’t forget their sacrifices – I do that for me as much as for anybody.
I can’t speak for the friends of the many others who have fallen, but for Mat, Cooter, and Mikey, I can say this:
It is important to remember them, and it is just as important to enjoy yourself this weekend. To spend time with your family and friends. Have a beer while grilling Wisconsin brats (Schram-bo!) in the backyard while watching your kids play tag.
What better assurance to them that they did not die in vain?
Enjoying your freedom and understanding it’s value is the best way to honor the sacrifices of my friends. That’s the way they’d want you to spend Memorial Day.
Remembering them, and being a good friend, father, and an American is the best way that I can honor their memory.
I’ll close with this heartfelt letter, written by Rick Kennedy, that I received via Corporal Seamus about Taylor Prazynski – a Marine who was buried at Arlington three years ago.
On Saturday morning May 21st I flew to Washington, D.C to meet my daughter Mary with grandchildren Calista and Lindsey, and her husband Joe Teller to drive with them to Chesterfield Virginia to attend a ballet recital for Callie that evening. Joe and Mary were in Washington for the burial services of Lance Corporal Taylor Prazynski USMC the 20 year old son of Joe’s cousin John Prazynski. Taylor was killed by enemy fire in Fallujah on May 9th while serving in combat with the 3rd Battalion, 8th Regiment, and 2nd Marine Division. Mary and Joe, along with 50 other family members attended the burial service for Taylor on Friday at Arlington National Cemetery, and when I met them they remained emotionally overwhelmed and forever moved by the elegant display of military reverence, and efficiency at Arlington. They were deeply saddened by the loss of this young Marine.
Earlier in the week Taylor’s body arrived at the Greater Cincinnati Airport by commercial jet. All passengers were instructed to remain on the plane until Taylor’s body was removed by a contingent of Marines. A military helicopter followed the Marine vehicle as it motored to the funeral parlor. Police and fire trucks were stationed at the overpasses and along the highway and saluted at Taylor passed by. At the funeral parlor no civilian was allowed to touch the body. The Marines prepared the deceased…A Marine color guard followed by a rider less horse accompanied Taylor’s body down Ohio Highway 4 for funeral services at Fairfield High School gym. Over 1500 people were in attendance of the funeral service at the school where the young Marine graduated in 2003, and played football and ran track. Pastor Dave Workman of the Vineyard Community Church presided. He gave a sterling tribute to this fallen hero that gave his life to his country. The pastor praised Taylor for his work with the church’s youth group, and his volunteer work with a multiple-disabilities class while in high school.
At Arlington on May 20th, the seven pall bearers dressed resplendent in the Marine dress blues uniform marched with the flag draped casket with military precision. When they reached the gravesite they abruptly raised the casket above their shoulders for 30 long seconds, giving the fallen Marine salute, and then rested the casket on its conveyor belt support over the grave. The military chaplain in civilian clothes gave the last rites, and presented the family Taylor’s posthumously awarded Purple Heart Medal.
All seven Marines removed the American Flag from the casket. They raised the stars and stripes above the casket pulling the flag rigid like a drum. Then they tightly folded the flag step by step in a triangle with the ends tucked firmly in place. One of the Marines did an about face and presented the flag to the Marine Sergeant standing alone to the rear of the casket, and saluted the flag.. The Marine in charge carrying the flag proceeded to the seat of the father John Prazynski. The Marine knelt down and bowed his head and presented the flag to the grieving father as the final gesture of sympathy and appreciation by the United States Marine Corps for the brave service of this young Marine.
Seven Marines standing away from the proceedings fired their rifles in three volleys representing a 21 gun salute, and you could hear muffled screams of sorrow from the youth in attendance as a lone bugler in Marine dress blues played the sad haunting sound of “Taps’ that echoed across the green rolling plains of Arlington on to the endless stream of white stones in this section called” Iraqi Freedom”. This was the Marines way of sending a signal to God to open the gates of Heaven for the arrival of [Corporal] Prazynski who gave his life for his country and our fight against terror throughout the world.
Remember Them.
And have a great Memorial Day.
At 3pm Monday, please stop and have a moment of silence for all of those that have fallen for the freedoms each and every one of us enjoy!
What to do?

Well I have been at my new job for 7 days now and have hated every second of it. Oh where to start?? Well I guess at the beginning will do:
Monday 5/5: No computer setup, no office/desk set up, the only job given to me is something I have no experience in, CAD standards are not given to me(b/c they have non!), get computer only to realize I have stepped out of the Jetsons Tech world of computers at my last job and stepped into the Flintstones Tech world, have a shitty CRT monitor, a keyboard that half the keys mess up including the space bar, sit on my ass doing nothing for 8 hours, boss checks in with my at 455 pm5 minutes before it is time to go home.
Tuesday 5/6: Repeat sitting on my ass doing nothing, boss never checks in on me, 3 people talk to me the entire day.
Wednesday 5/7: Repeat of Tuesday the only difference no one says a word to me the entire day, its like I am not even here, play on the internet and look for new job, had an interview with a better company at lunch.
Thursday 5/8: Repeat of Wed., except at 1145amboss comes to see me and see where I am at the project he gave me Monday, I show him what I have done, he decides to go a different route with that project, gives me something new to do, oh look its bitch work to do for the rest of the day and for Friday.
Friday 5/9: Same as the rest of the week, do the bitch work in the morning, take 2 hours, stop bitch work after 2 hours so I have something to do at the end of the day, after lunch take 1 1/2 to finish bitch work, sit on ass the rest of the day, no one talks to me again for a second day.
Weekend: Awesome surprised my wifes mom for mother’s day by going over to her parents house for the weekend, caught up on sleep.
Monday 5/12: Ask for work, get bitch work that I finish in 45 minutes, sit around waiting for new work, get new project to do at 4pm involves grading a water treatment site-have not graded in CAD with out the special tools that me last company had, informed my boss this his actual words: ” you will be fine, you can figure it out, get it done”, put the project aside till Tuesday play on internet. Leave work decided to take a different route home- don’t see that stop sign at the railroad crossing but the police see me, get ticket, almost home wife calls says that my previous employer canceled her and my daughters health insurance on the 14th of April (the day I was laid off) and not on the 30th like is was suppose to be so now we have big doctor bills from my wife’s doctor visit on the 20th, whats next??
Tuesday 5/13 10:48am: Called the city about ticket: $140, called former employer about insurance said its their fault will fix it, might take a week, called retention NCO about my re-enlistment paper work she tells me she will call me right back, that was 2 1/2 hours ago, still haven’t started that project not sure how to do it, boss has checked on me twice to see my progress-oops there isn’t any, ready to pull the trigger and quit,Update 1055am: Retention NCO called tying to get my bonus control number now! Update 1348: Got a call from a local police department have a test set up for the 27th, hopefully I do good and it pans out for me!
Man I hate this job, it has been one shitty month, hopefully it will get better soon!!!
Wtf part 2-A
Well for those wondering, I did get laid off a couple of weeks ago, but I formally accepted an offer from a local engineering company here in Northwest Arkansas and I start on Monday, so wich me luck.
Vets on the Hill 2
Well it has been a few weeks since the event in DC, but I just know have a chance to write about the event. This time the event was much larger and more successful then last Sept. Luckily no one was assaulted this time! Well the best place to start would be on Sunday and move on from there:
The event got kicked off with the state captains getting together in the hotel bar for a few drinks and to sit around and tell old war stories and talk about the events going on for the weekend, and hopefully how events might play out over the course of the next year. We then took a ride on the Vets for Freedom bus to dinner at an awesome Italian place. On the bus I was lucky to meet a guy that by all means every red blood American should met: Uncle Jimbo from Blackfive
The dinner was awesome, after dinner a group of us got a lovely tour of Virginia and Maryland trying to get to a party that was being thrown by Army Aviation Society. Its was at some new club that was in Maryland, hence the tour of Maryland and Virginia, the cabbies didn’t know where this place was. After the party we went to another bar to finish the night off, so all in all it was a fun and entertaining night. The next morning was somewhat interesting, having a hang over and trying to put together over 400 packets for all of the Veterans that were coming into town for the event. Afterwards we were able to catch up on some sleep and meet the delegates from our states as they came in.
Monday night wasn’t as much fun as Sunday, well at least not for me. A group of us had a nice dinner at Ruth Chris, then afterwards went to the hotel bar to mingle with everybody. Having leaned my lesson from the event last Sept I knew that I needed to get all of my things together because it was going to be an early morning. So i turned in early just to stay up to watch the Memphis Tigers give the national championship to Kansas, so like i said it wasn’t as much fun as Sunday.
Tuesday morning started out really really early with a breakfast. At the breakfast we had former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Myers speak at our breakfast, then we had the Georgetown Mens Basketball Coach, Coach John Thompson III. We also had the low down for the events of the day given to us by Pete Hegseth and Joel Arends of VFF. After breakfast we all load the buses to take us to Union Station were we all walked together to Upper Senate Park for the rally that was being held. During this rally we had the fortunate to hear from Sen McCain, Sen Lieberman, Sen Graham, and many more Senators and Congress Persons.
After the rally the over 400 veterans from all 50 states went to the hill to meet with our Senators and Congressman and talk to them about the fight going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. we asked them all to listen to the testimony of Gen Petraeus on the hill ans to let the troops on the ground keep the fight going and to “Let them Win!”
I was fortunate to have a face to face meeting with Senator Lincoln of Arkansas and with Congressman Boozman, Arkansas 3rd District congressman. The first meeting was with Congressman Bozzman, he has been a full supported of the troops in Iraq and a supporter of the mission in Iraq. I spoke with him in Sept. This meeting I was lucky to have one of the founders of VFF to join me, Mark Seavy, better know as TSO at Sniper
After the meeting ith Boozman, I had a meeting with Sen Lincoln’s office. The meeting went on for about 10 minutes with myself and with Sen Lincoln’s veterans affair person. After about 10 minutes the Sen joined us, even thought it was for a short period of time, she manged to make it very clear to me that she does not support the mission in Iraq, nor does she support the troops like she claims she does. Her and I had a heated discussion about the events in Iraq and how in my eyes, and the eyes of the commanding General of Iraq the surge was and is working in Iraq and how the government of Iraq have also made political gains even thought the Democrats say they haven’t. Sen Lincoln’s main stance was that the political gains weren’t being made, which I had to inform her that not only they were being made but I had to give the examples of what was being done. O course she wanted nothing to do with that, even after I told her that the Iraqi government was able to do something that not even her or the other 99 senators and 435 Congresspersons were not able to do, that make a balanced budget. Well after that I could tell she was getting heated, and I was as well, so to be the better person I told her that we will have to agree to disagree. After that meeting I had a long trip to the airport and home, and during that trip I was thinking about something the Sen said to me that stuck out like a sore thumb: ” I fully support our troops, i will make sure they have what they need, but the surge is not working and we need to leave now”. Now let me get into this statement in greater detail.
How can a person in the same breath say they support the troops but then say the same troops they “support” aren’t getting the job done? Is it me or does that sound idiotic? To support the troops means to give them everything thy need to fight, everything they need to survive while fighting, and to give them 100% support here at home. Support isn’t saying you support them and then turn around and play arm chair general from the comfort of your air conditioned office in DC and try to put a time table on when the troops should come home. All that does is play into the hands of the enemy and gives them hope that we will turn and run with our tails between our legs. It gives the enemy the support they need to continue to fight because the people that we elect to make the laws and to keep Americans safe are in fact acting in a way that can be compared to Treason against this country. It is up to every American over the age of 18 to look at the issue at hand and make the correct decision on who they vote for.
I will get off of my soap box now and thank the other person from Arkansas that attended the event with me, Mr. Wayne Bowen. I would like to thank him for taking time out of his busy schedule and go to DC. Hopefully at the next event the Arkansas Chapter will have a bigger and better showing.
