Change we can believe in…..Obama changing his mind!!

OK so here lately there has been a lot a folks accusing Barrack Hussein Obama of “flip-flopping” on a wide range of issues since winning the Dem nom. Well I would have to agree with them, but the one issue that affects me the most and makes me cringe to think he might be in charge, is Iraq.

For those of you who don’t know, I have been in the Army for over 11 years. In fact I just re-enlisted for 6 more years. With that re-enlistment I have all but secured my spot to go back to Iraq, that’s right go BACK. I was in Fallujah, Iraq in 2003-2004, I was attached to the 3rd ID, 3rd ACR, and the 82nd Airborne during my time there. I have seen my fair share of IED’s while in country, being as my unit were one of the first IED Hunters in country, in fact we pretty much wrote the doctrine that is being used now at this very minute. Anyways because of my time there and the fact that at some point in the next 6 years I will most likely be back at least once if not twice. So with this prospect, the idea that Barrack Hussein Obama might be the Commander in Chief scares the living s*** out of me!!!

This is a man who 1) has no experience to fall back on to be the President besides giving some speeches and looking good on the cover of Rolling Stone (which I will never read again!), 2) he has no experience in foreign relations, when he goes to state on TV that he would met with the leaders of Iraq, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela with out any pre-conditions show his lack of grasp on foreign matters. 3) The fact that since he “won” the Dem nom everything that he stood for during the primary race against Clinton, has changed, here is one example of many: thought the weapons ban in DC was constitutional, then when the Supreme Court said it wasn’t he agreed. But the biggest flop is his stance on Iraq.

He has stated in numerous speeches that he was against the war in Iraq in 2003 when he was a Sate Senator, well who gives a s***? You were a State Senator you had no say in weather or not we went to war in Iraq. States do not declare war on countries, the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States declare war! So to say that while as a STATE Senator you were against going to war as no merit besides you just proving that you are a left wing liberal that wants to use and abuse the freedoms that thousands of American troops have died for!  Then when you finally get to the big state as a U.S. Senator you remain the anti-war liberal, which is fine everybody is allowed to have the opinion and for that thank a veteran. So he was sworn into the Senate on Jan 5 2005, and 13 months later he put his hat into the race for President. 13 Months!!! Are you kidding me?? You have 7 years as a state senator, and 13 months as a U.S. Senator and have the aducity to run for President!! The fact that now a 17 months after announcing your run for President you are trying to turn your campaign from the far left lane to the center lane, and to do this you are having to go against everything you stood for during the 16 month primaries! Now to get back on this topic, Iraq.

Barrack Hussein Obama (yes I use his middle name, does this make me a racist? NO its his name, if he doesn’t like it or if you don’t tough, I didn’t name him!), the fact that at the start of the primaries he was 100% against the war and that elected you would pull troops out as soon as you hit office. Then he came out with a bill in Senate that called for the troops to be out of Iraq by March 31, 2008 that was turned down. Then he came up with an idea to pull out 1 to 2 brigades out of Iraq in each month and have all of them out in 16 months, but he would leave enough forces there to guard the embassy and a counter-terrorist group as well. But hold the phone! Here it is July 2008, 3 1/2 months till the General election and he has all but switched his position.

Barrack Hussein Obama was everywhere in the beginning of 2007 and the end of 2006 saing the “surge” would not work, it was a bad idea to “double-down” as he state on the Meet the Press. Even in August of 2007, 2 months after the surge began (which if you are not in the military 2 months is not enough time to root out enemy forces from a country the size of Texas!), he came out saying the sure isn’t working and no matter what GEN Petraeus says in Sept, it does not matter the surge is a failure pull out now! Well let fast forward to June 2008, he is still on the surge isn’t working band wagon, but what a minute what is this I am hearing from the main stream media itself?? Oh the surge worked? The terrorists are all but destroyed? The Iraqi got has reached 16 out 18 objectives the Dem Congress put forth as part of the surge? But your President Nominee said it wouldn’t work and it isn’t working!! Oh wait a minute my bad he didn’t say that he told is that on the TV and the internet!

Good thing he never told us the surge wouldn’t work….oh what is that you say check youtube? Oh yea youtube the new way to check what a politician has really said abut an issue 17 months ago even though he cant remember, so this is what I found: its a lonf video but worth the watch

Now I am not a genius like Barrack Hussien Obama, but it appears to me he doesn’t even know where he stands on Iraq, in fact it make me think that his “change”means he will change his mind!!! Do yourself a favor look, read, watch, and listen to everything that is out there on both canadiates then make your choice, don’t just vote becasue you alwaysvoted for that party. The wrong choice in Nov might bring the “change” that this country may never be able to recover from.

Illegal war and the Clinton Admin

makes me wonder if Obama reads history? Watch this video of Bill Clinton after the attacks on the embassies in Africa in 1998.
Pay attention to the following times:
2:04-Law enforcement
2:31- Law enforcement may not be enough
2:43- Terrorism will not end
2:50- We will not yield
2:56- Will belong and ongoing battle
3:05- we will fight for as long as needed
3:30- we must stand against terrorism

Bill Clinton speech to the Joint Chiefs of Staff 2/17/98:
Watch for these times here:
1:00 Dealing with Saddam
1:15- Push back against Saddam when he pushes against us
2:13- We are prepared to act
3:12- Iraq is a rogue state with WMD’s to give to terrorists groups
3:44- Clear evidence of WMD’s

Al Gore 2/18/98 Speech to the Joint Chiefs of Staff
Watch for these times:
0:42- There is a serious challenge in the Gulf
0:54- the ability to produce and use WMD’s

Make me wonder what the Democrats and the liberal left are really thinking??

UPDATE

Found some more videos of the Clinton Admin telling lies like the Bush Admin supposedly did!

Let us not forget!

So I was stumbling (its an ad-on for Firefox or internet explorer very addictive, check it out here) here at work today and I came across a video of the attacks on the World Trade Center that I had not seen, and it got me thinking. All day today I have been reading things about Obama’s stance on the war on terror and his foreign polices he wants to put into place. Most of the stories reflect on how Obama wants to go back to the way it was on 9/10/01, and that scares the crap out of me!

Obama actually thinks that if there is another terrorist attack on this country like the one on 9/11 that law enforcement would be able to handle it just like it did in the 93 bombings of the WTC! Well obviously that didn’t work out! After the bombing of the WTC in 93, Al-Queada and other terrorists would do the following events prior to 9/11/01 all over the world to American citizens:

1.Nov. 13,1995- Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: car bomb exploded at U.S. military headquarters, killing 5 U.S. military servicemen.

2.June 25,1996- Dhahran, Saudi Arabia: truck bomb exploded outside Khobar Towers military complex, killing 19 American servicemen and injuring hundreds of others. 13 Saudis and a Lebanese, all alleged members of Islamic militant group Hezbollah, were indicted on charges relating to the attack in June 2001.

3.Aug. 7,1998- Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: truck bombs exploded almost simultaneously near 2 U.S. embassies, killing 224 (213 in Kenya and 11 in Tanzania) and injuring about 4,500. 4 men connected with al-Qaeda 2 of whom had received training at al-Qaeda camps inside Afghanistan, were convicted of the killings in May 2001 and later sentenced to life in prison. A federal grand jury had indicted 22 men in connection with the attacks, including Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden, who remained at large.

4.Oct. 12,2000-Aden, Yemen: U.S. Navy destroyer USS Cole heavily damaged when a small boat loaded with explosives blew up alongside it. 17 sailors killed. Linked to Osama bin Laden, or members of al-Qaeda terrorist network.

(information for these items were taken from Terrorists Attacks at infoplease.com)

Now there ahve been some attacks on Americans since 9/11 but nothing to the scale of the 4 above. But to keep a balanced view here are the rest after 9/11:

1.May 12,2003- Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: suicide bombers killed 34, including 8 Americans, at housing compounds for Westerners. Al-Qaeda suspected.

2.May 29–312004-, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: terrorists attack the offices of a Saudi oil company in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, take foreign oil workers hostage in a nearby residential compound, leaving 22 people dead including one American.

3.June 11–19,2004- Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: terrorists kidnap and execute Paul Johnson Jr., an American, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 2 other Americans and BBC cameraman killed by gun attacks.

4.Dec. 6,2004- Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: terrorists storm the U.S. consulate, killing 5 consulate employees. 4 terrorists were killed by Saudi security.

5.Nov. 9,2005- Amman, Jordan: Suicide bombers hit 3 American hotels, Radisson, Grand Hyatt, and Days Inn, in Amman, Jordan, killing 57. Al-Qaeda claimed responsibility.

6.Jan. 12,2006- Athens, Greece: the U.S. embassy was fired on by an anti-tank missile causing damage but no injuries.

Now these last 6 were all done in Muslim countries against U.S. targets, but not done on American soil. So what does that mean? Well in my mind that means the Bush Admin’s approach to the terrorists over the last 7 years has worked. We have been able to keep the American people safe with in our own borders! Now that is not to say that the terrorists didn’t try, but when the government comes out and says they have stopped an attack from happening is a lot better then them coming on TV saying we will get those responsible for this attack.

Now imagine if you will, the Bush Admin decides to what Clinton has done the 8 years prior to the 9/11 attack and decided to allow law enforcement try to capture those responsible and send a few dozen cruise missiles at the Taliban! Do you honestly think that would have stopped them from coming here again and attacking us? Do you think that by going into a defensive position against terrorists would have stopped them? I would have to say HELL NO!!! If anything it would have made them stronger! They would have seen this as a success and the U.S. are to big of pussies to come after them, so they would have free rain on us! So instead of having 66 Americans killed by terrorists attacks since 9/11, that number could have easily been double, tripled or more!

Now some of you out there will scream and holler ” We didn’t get Osama!”, “Bush lied people died!”,”Iraq is an illegal war!”. Well before you stress out your vocal cords and get my combat boot up your ass, I am not listening to that crap! We could get Osama if the Pakistani govt would help us and allow us to look in their country, but that isn’t going to happentoday nor will it happen if Obama is President! As far as the Iraq war being illegal, well I think that ship has sailed! First off go read this story here about the “illegal” war. Also read this here about Saddam’s connections to Al-Queda, and while you are at it read this here about Saddam’s other connections to terrorism. Or read how Obama thinks all of the terrorists from the93 bombing are in jail here
Or the fact that Obama has aides saying stupid shit like Winnie the Pooh should shape foreign policy, read it here

Well the main purpose of this post is to remind all you folks out there of why we are fighting, why it is important to vote McCain into office, and why we have to keep the terrorists on the run no matter how long it takes us to rid this world of them:

Courtsey of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette

I came across this story on Ace of Spades

It really caught my eye due to the fact it is a story that comes from a local newspaper here in Arkansas. Below is the text from the article, you can find the store here

UPDATE: was told by “Jeff” that I can’t have the whole text of the story in the blog, so you will have to click the link above or click here

IN THE EVENT you haven’t noticed it’s a presidential election year. You can tell by the ever growing flurry of conspiracy theories—not just delicious new ones like Barack Obama’s being some kind of Manchurian Candidate for Jihad, Inc., but ones that, even if they’ve grown old and wormy by now, can be pulled off the shelf and re-issued as a brand-new congressional report. Like the 170-page piece of work just out of the Senate Intelligence Committee. The precarious burden of this report is that the evil crew in the White House systematically exaggerated the threat that Saddam Hussein’s regime posed by tilting the intelligence available at the time and overlooking views that didn’t fit in with its lust for war.

If you like to read the rest please visit one of the links above or click here

I just love the fact that the so called “anti-war” Democrats of today are the same ones up to 10 years ago were screaming that Saddam was a threat and that he had or would have WMD’s that he could use against us! Seems that the Democrats must have slept since making these claims and woke up with a better version of the story. To bad the main stream media are so far left, if they actually reported news in a fair and balanced way, then these kinds of things would be brought to light! Make me wonder, had a Gore been in office when 9/11 happened and the Pentagon came to him saying hey we know Saddam has these weapons lets go get him and we did, would the Republicans flipped their positions on the war and turned into turn-coats? Would the main stream media reported all of the “bad” things that happened? Would there even be a debate about the Iraq war on a daily basis on the floor of Congress? My only guess would be NO! I still want to know how you can be “for” the war in 2002, and then less then 2 years later be against the war? They makes no since to me, but then again I do use common sense on a daily basis

McCain’s first hand story of being a POW and some of my rants

Ok so I found this at Little Green Footballs:

Its a first hand account of John McCain’s time spent as a POW in Vietnam. I have always known he was s POW but I never knew the actual story behind his time. If you are a McCain supporter, or if you aren’t go read this story. I have taken the liberty of clipping some of the text out of the story, due to the fact a lot of what McCain said then is very relevant today. So we will start here and move forward. The italics is what McCain had to say, and my comments will be in green:

As you may know, back in 1954, the North Vietnamese had a big hand in toppling the French Government in Paris because the French voters had no more stomach for the Vietnam war their Government was waging at the time. That was the way the North Vietnamese won in 1954—they didn’t win in Vietnam.

The French agreed to pull out of Indo-China with no questions asked when they signed the agreement. As a result, they got back just one third of their POW’s.

I’m convinced that Hanoi hoped to win in our case by undermining morale among the people at home in America. They had to marshal world opinion on their side. I remember in 1968 or ’69 [North Vietnam Premier] Pham Van Dong’s speech to the National Assembly, because we were blasted with these things on the loud-speakers. The title of his address was, “The Whole World Supports Us,” not, “We Have Defeated the U. S. Aggressors,” or anything like that.

Now granted there aren’t a large amount of missing or POW troops in Iraq or Afgan, in fact I believe the only missing Solider Staff Sgt. Keith M. “Matt” Maupin has been found . Now I could be wrong on that statement, but lets move forward. If you read McCain’s words from 1973 you will see that the French “lost” the war because the French people got tired of the war. Now this was most likely brought on by anti-war protesters all of the country. Being as that was in 1954, and here we are in 2008 and the same thing is going on here. Anti-war groups are popping up everywhere spreading lies about the war and what is going on over there.

All through this period, the “gooks” were bombarding us with antiwar quotes from people in high places back in Washington. This was the most effective propaganda they had to use against us—speeches and statements by men who were generally respected in the United States. They used Senator Fulbright a great deal, and Senator Brooke. Ted Kennedy was quoted again and again, as was Averell Harriman. Clark Clifford was another favorite, right after he had been Secretary of Defense under President Johnson.

I find it amazing that in the 60’s during the Vietnam war, Senators were speaking out against it like it would not hurt those serving overseas. When the reality was that there words were actually doing the opposite, it was hurting those that were in the POW camps. And the fact that you have Ted Kennedy back then running his mouth against that war and here he is 40 years later doing again. (see my story about term limits, this is a prime example of why we need them!!). The soldiers in Iraq are hearing the same thing today, on a daily basis from the main stream media, from Senators and Congressmen, and even from a Presidential candidate that won’t even go to Iraq to visit the troops and see that the surge is working!!

The only reason why the North Vietnamese began negotiating in October, 1972, was because they could read the polls as well as you and I can, and they knew that Nixon was going to have an overwhelming victory in his re-election bid. So they wanted to negotiate a cease-fire before the elections.

Granted we are not fighting an enemy like the NVA, but the terrorists pay close attention to polls and to stories coming out of the U.S about the was in Iraq. And when they see and hear stories about the surge isn’t working, and there is a candidate that wants to pull the troops out as soon as he gets into office, this makes their will stronger to keep fighting. The AQI want nothing more then for Obama to win in November. With his win they will be able to wait for the troops to be pulled out and sit back and claim defeat against the strongest military in the world. This would not only be a blow to those serving in uniform but it would be a blow to the United States all over the world.

I admire President Nixon’s courage. There may be criticism of him in certain areas—Watergate, for example. But he had to take the most unpopular decisions that I could imagine—the mining, the blockade, the bombing. I know it was very, very difficult for him to do that, but that was the thing that ended the war. I think the reason he understood this is that he has a long background in dealing with these people. He knows how to use the carrot and the stick. Obviously, his trip to China and the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty with Russia were based on the fact that we’re stronger than the Communists, so they were willing to negotiate. Force is what they understand. And that’s why it is difficult for me to understand now, when everybody knows that the bombing finally got a cease-fire agreement, why people are still criticizing his foreign policy—for example, the bombing in Cambodia.

The fact in 1969 Nixon was willing to stand up against the left, to stand up against the anti-war folks, and to see that the war in Vietnam would end the way it should have ended, is an inspiration that the next President needs to have. The fact that McCain in 1973 saw that what Nixon did help with the end of that war, leads me to believe he knows what is best for the course of actions in Iraq. The fact that the left has a candidate that doesn’t understand the military, doesn’t understand that history has a way or repeating itself if not learned, has way to many “friends” that are against this country scares the crap out of me!!

At this particular juncture, after Tet in 1968, they thought they had the war won. They had gotten General Westmoreland [commander of U.S. forces in South Vietnam] fired. They were convinced that they had wrecked Johnson’s chances for re-election. And they thought that they had the majority of the American people on their side. That’s why these guys were speaking very freely as to what their ambitions were. They were speaking prematurely, because they just misjudged the caliber of President Nixon.

Imagine if you will, AQI had not been almost totally destroyed with the surge last year. With that victory and the fact that there was an election happening the following year, and the main Anti-war candidate looked like a shoe in for the President would AQI not be doing the same thing? They would be all over the internet and the main stream media telling each and every one of us that they were winning that the great United States has been defeated, and now that we control Iraq it is time to move towards destroying Israel!!!!

I have heard there was one B-52 pilot who refused to fly the missions during the Christmas bombing. You always run into that kind. When the going gets tough, they find out their conscience is bothering them. I want to say this to anybody in the military: If you don’t know what your country is doing, find out. And if you find you don’t like what your country is doing, get out before the chips are down.

Now a lot of you out there on the left have had your panties all in a bunch about the war, and the fact there is a group IAVW that has certain people in that would rather desert their posts and not follow the commands they took an oath to follow scare the living shit out of me. The fact that McCain who was beaten on almost a daily basis had the courage to stand up for what was right, the courage to realize that he made the choice to fight (granted a lot of folks during Vietnam were drafted, McCain wasn’t nor are anybody that has served or is serving in the military now) . For those soldiers that say the war is wrong, that they “saw” war crimes, or heard about war crimes, or that they aren’t going to go back to Iraq, well here is my question to you: Why the fuck did you join the military? I mean did you think you were going to boy scout camp an get to march around with guns and sing camp fire songs?? I mean give me a break, I joined in 1997, there wasn’t a threat of war then, but I knew that when I signed my name, raised my hand and took the oath that there could be a war at anytime. The world changes to fast for there not to be. Hell there was a war 6 years prior to me enlisting!! So any of you morons at IVAW think that you have ground to stand on, have another thing coming for you. Because if you “saw” these crimes, or you took part in them you time is coming. If you didn’t report them you time is coming. If you are making false accusations to members of congress your time is coming. But what am I kidding non of you are brave enough to stand up, take the stand in a court room or Senate committee room, raise your right hand and take an oath to tell the truth and nothing but the truth!!

Remember, a handful of turncoats after the Korean War made a great majority of Americans think that most of the POW’s in conflict were traitors.

This last passage goes to all of the anti-war troops out there spreading false stories, telling lies about things that supposedly happened! Because of you, because of groups like IVAW you are making those of us that are proud of our service, that went and fought for their country with honor and same gave their lives to insure that the freedoms of this country would live on forever. you are making all of us look like a bunch of renegades, blood thirsty, and willing to do whatever we want as long as we got home. Whenever you decide to speak and if I am around I will make sure to bring my Bull Shit Card to throw out! If you want to make a difference then do it under oath, bring evidence to the table, give names and locations, and dates the things you speak about happened. Until then crawl back under the rocks you came out from, enjoy the college education your country can and will provide for you, and let it go. So you had a rough year in Iraq or you had to do more then one tour, suck it up. The military isn’t a fucking cake walk, and neither is war!!!

Barrack and Iraq

Ok I have to ask a stupid question to the left: How in your right mind can you actually back a guy that wants to talk to terrorists, talk to a nation that wants to wipe another nation off the map, and wants to deal with an idiot from South America that had the balls to stand up in front of the U.N and say that Bush was the devil, yet he is to big of a puss to go to Iraq and speak with the troops that are fighting to insure he can be such a puss? Please explain that to me?? I mean lets get real here, how can someone even think about being the President of the United States, and not even go to Iraq and talk with the troops? I mean is he afraid that when he gets there that all of the bullshit he has been spewing about the surge not working and that the Iraqi’s don’t want us there, and that the country is falling apart are not going to be true? Oh wait, thats it, he does realize he is wrong and is afraid to admit to it, oh what am I thinking about he is a Left wing, liberal, he can’t admit he is wrong its against everything he stands for.

For all of you liberal, left wing asshats, take this to heart before you have any words to say to me: If you really think that Barrack will be able to pull all of the troops out of Iraq in the first year he is in office then you must really want more troops to die. The fact that the enemy will wait until we all move south to Kuwait to leave and then attack us on the way. Then they will go from city to city killing anyone and everyone that helped us while we were there. Then what is to stop Iran from coming south and taking over? Then now you have a country that is that much closer to wiping Israel off of the map!! Its common sense people use it already!!!! then when all this happens what is ole Barrack going to do? Talk to his buddy Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and tell him he is being bad.Maybe smack his nose like some sort of fucking dog that shit on the carpet? No barrack is going to have to send troops back and this time it will take more then what we have there now. And how does one get more troops?Anyone? Anyone?? Its called a draft!!

So now we have a draft, were are all of you left wingers that haven’t joined the military prior to this going to go to?? Are you all going to run off to Mexico or France? Try to get deferments like Clinton? Ask yourself these questions when you hear Barrack speak, or should I say spew his bullshit. I mean really at what point will he come out and admit that he has said that he will meet with these mad men with no terms and is to big of a pussy to go to Iraq??? Well I for one am not going to hold my breath, for as I may die if I do so, and well that would be just as dumb as voting for Barrack!!

Oh and another thought for you. Over the last 8 years all of you have whined and cried about how Bush stole the election, he didn’t win, blah, blah blah!! What happens this time if Barrack losses, whether its but a slim margin or large margin?? Will the race card be played?? Will the election have been stolen from the great and all powerful wizard that is Barrack?? The race card you plan on using if thats the case has an expiration date on it, and if you look closely it expired the day O.J. was found not guilty!! Just food for thought. Please discuss amongst yourselves and let me know what you plan on doing if that happens. Because another 4 years of having to hear how the election was stolen will get old real fast. Hell look at what you are doing in your own party, Can’t even make a decision on who will be the nom. Hell yo are about to tell 2 states that there votes do not count and they are not part of the process, thats a real good way to win in Nov you big twits!

“(Obama) really has no experience or knowledge or judgment about the issue of Iraq and he has wanted to surrender for a long time.” — John McCain

What to do?…part 2

Well it has been a couple of weeks since I posted about my shitty job and a few good things have happened. First I got my daughter for the summer so thats the biggest thing! I am so excited to have her here. Especially since at the end of last year I thought I would be in Iraq by now, which may still happen and when it does I will take it like a grain of salt, do my mission and get home.

On the job front, I recently took a test with a local police department this past Tuesday, got a call from the on the same day saying I passed and they want me to come in for an interview next Monday. So I am very excited about this. Some people have been asking me why I want to become a cop, and the best way I can explain it to them is this way. I consider being a cop as an extension of being in the Army the only difference is I won’t b serving the whole country by a community, and hopefully do some good to that community. So hopefully the interview will go well, and I get to move on in the process of getting the job.

The next big thing is,this past Sat. I reenlisted in the Army Reserves for another 6 years. Of course with this came a big bonus, but it isn’t always about the money. I have been in for over 11 years now, and the Army has been a part of my life so much that when I looked at the possibility of getting out and not having it there scared me. It’s like having your arm removed for no good reason. Now if you are my mom or sister the good reason would be not to go to Iraq, but that is something that I have come to terms with a longtime ago. I knew the moment I signed my name and took the oath 11 years ago that at some point I may or may not have to go to war. Anyone who has joined and says differently is an idiot and needs to be bitched slapped! I also knew at the age of 8 that i would be in the military until I could retire from it. So with 11 years down it made only sense to keep going towards the 20. But now I am faced with a HUGE problem, how do I tell my mom and sister with out them beating the shit out of me? Me telling my dad will be no big deal, he is very supportive of my service and telling him that I decided to continue on verses getting out, he will understand, but my mom and sister are totally different. Hell in 2003, before I went over the first time my mom was trying to run me over with the car so I couldn’t go, (not really but she suggested it a few times!). Hopefully they will understand it at some point, especially when they realize that my wife supports me 150% and that I think if my daughter was a few years older should would understand and be behind me as well.

Vets on the Hill 2

Well it has been a few weeks since the event in DC, but I just know have a chance to write about the event. This time the event was much larger and more successful then last Sept. Luckily no one was assaulted this time! Well the best place to start would be on Sunday and move on from there:

The event got kicked off with the state captains getting together in the hotel bar for a few drinks and to sit around and tell old war stories and talk about the events going on for the weekend, and hopefully how events might play out over the course of the next year. We then took a ride on the Vets for Freedom bus to dinner at an awesome Italian place. On the bus I was lucky to meet a guy that by all means every red blood American should met: Uncle Jimbo from Blackfive

The dinner was awesome, after dinner a group of us got a lovely tour of Virginia and Maryland trying to get to a party that was being thrown by Army Aviation Society. Its was at some new club that was in Maryland, hence the tour of Maryland and Virginia, the cabbies didn’t know where this place was. After the party we went to another bar to finish the night off, so all in all it was a fun and entertaining night. The next morning was somewhat interesting, having a hang over and trying to put together over 400 packets for all of the Veterans that were coming into town for the event. Afterwards we were able to catch up on some sleep and meet the delegates from our states as they came in.

Monday night wasn’t as much fun as Sunday, well at least not for me. A group of us had a nice dinner at Ruth Chris, then afterwards went to the hotel bar to mingle with everybody. Having leaned my lesson from the event last Sept I knew that I needed to get all of my things together because it was going to be an early morning. So i turned in early just to stay up to watch the Memphis Tigers give the national championship to Kansas, so like i said it wasn’t as much fun as Sunday.

Tuesday morning started out really really early with a breakfast. At the breakfast we had former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Myers speak at our breakfast, then we had the Georgetown Mens Basketball Coach, Coach John Thompson III. We also had the low down for the events of the day given to us by Pete Hegseth and Joel Arends of VFF. After breakfast we all load the buses to take us to Union Station were we all walked together to Upper Senate Park for the rally that was being held. During this rally we had the fortunate to hear from Sen McCain, Sen Lieberman, Sen Graham, and many more Senators and Congress Persons.

After the rally the over 400 veterans from all 50 states went to the hill to meet with our Senators and Congressman and talk to them about the fight going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. we asked them all to listen to the testimony of Gen Petraeus on the hill ans to let the troops on the ground keep the fight going and to “Let them Win!”

I was fortunate to have a face to face meeting with Senator Lincoln of Arkansas and with Congressman Boozman, Arkansas 3rd District congressman. The first meeting was with Congressman Bozzman, he has been a full supported of the troops in Iraq and a supporter of the mission in Iraq. I spoke with him in Sept. This meeting I was lucky to have one of the founders of VFF to join me, Mark Seavy, better know as TSO at Sniper

After the meeting ith Boozman, I had a meeting with Sen Lincoln’s office. The meeting went on for about 10 minutes with myself and with Sen Lincoln’s veterans affair person. After about 10 minutes the Sen joined us, even thought it was for a short period of time, she manged to make it very clear to me that she does not support the mission in Iraq, nor does she support the troops like she claims she does. Her and I had a heated discussion about the events in Iraq and how in my eyes, and the eyes of the commanding General of Iraq the surge was and is working in Iraq and how the government of Iraq have also made political gains even thought the Democrats say they haven’t. Sen Lincoln’s main stance was that the political gains weren’t being made, which I had to inform her that not only they were being made but I had to give the examples of what was being done. O course she wanted nothing to do with that, even after I told her that the Iraqi government was able to do something that not even her or the other 99 senators and 435 Congresspersons were not able to do, that make a balanced budget. Well after that I could tell she was getting heated, and I was as well, so to be the better person I told her that we will have to agree to disagree. After that meeting I had a long trip to the airport and home, and during that trip I was thinking about something the Sen said to me that stuck out like a sore thumb: ” I fully support our troops, i will make sure they have what they need, but the surge is not working and we need to leave now”. Now let me get into this statement in greater detail.

How can a person in the same breath say they support the troops but then say the same troops they “support” aren’t getting the job done? Is it me or does that sound idiotic? To support the troops means to give them everything thy need to fight, everything they need to survive while fighting, and to give them 100% support here at home. Support isn’t saying you support them and then turn around and play arm chair general from the comfort of your air conditioned office in DC and try to put a time table on when the troops should come home. All that does is play into the hands of the enemy and gives them hope that we will turn and run with our tails between our legs. It gives the enemy the support they need to continue to fight because the people that we elect to make the laws and to keep Americans safe are in fact acting in a way that can be compared to Treason against this country. It is up to every American over the age of 18 to look at the issue at hand and make the correct decision on who they vote for.

I will get off of my soap box now and thank the other person from Arkansas that attended the event with me, Mr. Wayne Bowen. I would like to thank him for taking time out of his busy schedule and go to DC. Hopefully at the next event the Arkansas Chapter will have a bigger and better showing.

Vets on the Hill

Well with a week left before the Vets on the Hill event, I have started to prepare myself for what may or may not come. the biggest thing that may or may not come are the protests. The last time I was in DC for the first Vets on the Hill, our rally was protested by everybody and their grandma’s. It was during our rally that a Blue Star Mom was assaulted, and would lead to my trip to DC in Feb. to testify against the guy (he was found guilty!!)

Hopefully this time around that will not happen. But with the moonbats out and about, and it being just a few weeks after the 5 year anniversary, I would not be surprised if there are out in force!

With a week left to go, it has me wondering and pondering what the future holds. With the election not so far in the future, it has me wondering what will happen to this great country?

i had dinner this weekend with my wife’s boss, her soon to be husband, and a couple that my wife and her boss knew. While we were eating the topic of my being in the Army and me having the possibility to go back to Iraq came up. I tried not to get to political, because a. my wife threatened me if I did, and B. I did not know what the 3rd couple believed in. One of the questions that came up was about the “intense mortar attacks in the Green Zone”. They wanted to know if I knew anything about this. That questions opened a door that I was able to bring the entire Army thru. i was able to inform them that attacks like those go on all the time. Granted the number of attacks have sub-dued, it still happens. in fact I told them that while I was in country if I had a dollar for every rocket and mortar that was shot at my base, i would not have to be working right now! now don’t get me wrong, since the surge started and the year that has passed these kinds of attacks are becoming rare, what the issue at hand is the MSM (main stream media), are only reporting the bad things when they happen. I explained to this nice couple that not everything you hear on TV or read in the newspapers is true. That if you want to know what is really going on then ask someone ho has been there, seen what is going on, and had first hand knowledge of the events. Hopefully this one conversation has cleared some of the confusion for them and will lead them to get the real news from better sources. Now what does this have to do with Vets on the Hill, well not a whole lot, but it gets me into the correct mid frame I need to be in when I sit down with my Congressmen and Senators next week and discuss these issues.

So many things have happened since Sept. I have to hope that i can remember them all, to talk about. Things from the surge, working, to the moonbats going nuts in Berkley, and even to some of the crazy events in the elections so far! Granted this will be a huge challenge, but I believe that as the State Captain for Vets for Freedom here in Arkansas, and as an Army engineer for over 11 years, I can handle this challenge and I look forward to taking it on head first. Just like the Engineer creed: Can do! Will do!!

I look forward to talking about the trip when I get back, and I look forward to meeting new folks, and visiting with friends made on the last trip!

Why do we fight?

After I returned from Iraq in 2004, I was asked alot of questions. Questions like: how is the weather, is it really that bad over there, did you do anything good, and the biggest and toughest question I have ever received “Why do you fight?” Well this is a loaded questions from the start. It can be answered in many ways:
1. I fight for the man next to me on my left and my right.
2. I fight to protect the freedoms of this country.
3.I fight to protect the citizens for this country.
4. I fight because I was trained to fight and ordered to fight.
5. I fight so those who do not serve do not have to.
6. I fight because of the radical Islamic terrorists want not only American soliders dead, but they want every last non-Muslim dead! That include men, women, and children!

If you have not seen or heard of the short film by Geert Wilder, then listen up! This is some ting you need to watch. You need to watch this if you are on the fence on why we fight in Iraq and why we fight in Afghan. If you believe everything that is written in the media or shown on TV then you need to watch this video and see what is really happening.

Over the last year and half, I have read portions of the Koran, along with books that go into detail about the meaning of some of the items in the Koran. But after watching Geert Wilder’s file “Fitna” I have realized what I was reading. If you are curious or just want to see I have put the film here, it can also be found at liveleak.com It takes a minute to load so please be patient:
